This list is going to explain what it means to be a First, Second, Third year student as well as a Teacher. It is just a brief run through that should explain the overall view of each class/rank.
First Year Student (Rank E-D)
As a first year student you are still learning the fundamentals of magic and what it means to be a magi. You don't know any intense spells, but you know enough to at least assist you in your day to day classes. Just be sure to focus and pay attention in class and you should be a Second Year Student in No time. First year students are only able to learn E, D, and C(but this will only be limited to a select few) ranked spells, but that does not mean that can't learn any lower ranks either.
Second Year Student (Rank C-B)
As a second year student you are slightly more advanced than a first year student and can obtain more power as well. Your knowledge of spells is increased as well as the ranking of the spells you can use. You can also be a tutor to first years helping to assist them with whatever spells or homework they need help with. Second year students are only able to learn C, B, and A ranked spells(but this will be limited to a select few), but that does not mean that can't learn any lower ranks either.
Third Year Student (Rank B-AA)
As a third year student you are reaching your final days at Crest Coast and have learned mostly all of what the school has to offer. Your power exceeds the 1st and 2nd year students by far and you are able to use spells of increased power as well. You are also known as a teachers assistant, being able to assist them in class and even instruct a class of your own on rare occasions. Third Year students are only able to learn B, A and AA ranked spells but that does not mean that can't learn any lower ranks either.
Graduate (Rank AA-X)
As a graduate student you are able to use what you learned at Crest Coast and explore the worlds and its dimensions as well as visiting Crest Coast whenever you like as an Alumni. Graduates also get their name in the Hall Of Fame so everyone can know how great you are. Once a graduate however what you do with your learned knowledge from Crest Coast is completely up to you. Graduate students are able to Learn AA, S, SS, and X ranked spells but that does not mean that can't learn any lower ranks either.
